It is with great disappointment that we must suspend this year’s Celtic Faire. The recent winter storms brought more snow and rain then our Shire could handle. Two of the three roads out of Idyllwild have been impacted with washouts and are currently closed. Highway 74 from Hemet to Mountain Center is closed. Highway 243 from Banning to Idyllwild is closed. Highway 74 from Anza and the desert to Mountain Center is open to residents and people with business in Idyllwild. No tourists or casual visitors will be allowed through to Idyllwild. With more storms on the way, it might be quite some time before we can safely welcome back all our loyal patrons to the Shire of Idyllwild. With this in mind, it behooves us not to put our patrons at risk at this time. We hope that the roads will be rebuilt as soon as possible, but we don’t need lots of extra traffic on the impacted roads to allow the road workers to do their job safely. We hope and pray that the roads can be up and running soon so we can once again welcome back our Friends and Patrons to The Shire of Idyllwild. Visit and Like our Facebook page, “Idyllwild Lives” for updates on the roads as well as our plans for a grand celebration just as soon as the roads are open and we can get folks back up here.
